Improper Installation

This costly repair could have been avoided if the homeowners had hired a licensed professional for the job. Often, we find customers who are trying to save, and they hire unqualified people to repair these issues. Here is a cut-out repair of a kitchen line drain that backed up and damaged the customer's kitchen hardwood floor. Why is this improper?. Well, here is the list:

1.) Two different types of plastic were used,

2.) Wrong cement was used to join the two together,

3.) Fittings are used for transporting wastewater, and

4.) Fittings are used for air and water under pressure.

The 90 degree fitting is where wasted food collected and backed up the six feet of drain.
